Also Purlieu is one of my favorite foods, fun fact in Williamsburg County SC where my family is from the men cook most of the best purlieu, it is considered like a Beaufort stew, a dish cooked during cooler months to share with “company” it is a delight so delicious due to a wonderful combo of moist dark chicken, sausage and rice.
